Why you should use Vortex Gas

Whatever kind of pipework and fittings you need to join, our Soldering & Brazing range of tools will help you do the job accurately, quickly and safely.

When choosing either MAP-X or Propane Gas, there are a number of safety benefits that mean Vortex Gas should be your first choice. We’ve made this video to explain why...

Safe To Transport
Any transporting of dangerous goods carries risks, such as spillage of the goods, leading to hazards such as fire, explosion, chemical burn or environmental damage.

Vortex’s unique formulations, are accepted by all major couriers, ensuring safe and easy transport.

Safe To Store In Bulk
Also pallets of Vortex gas, unlike other gases, can be bulk stored without concern – meaning insurers are happier and making a safer environment for the entire supply chain.

ISO & TPED
Vortex gases conform to the latest ISO Standards – and Vortex Gas Cylinders are also all TPED approved. TPED is an abbreviation for the Transportable Pressure Equipment Directive, an essential safety standard used for the transport of dangerous goods by road, rail and inland waterway.

It’s important for a number of reasons;

TPED regulations specifies that the pressure relief valve on the canister opens at a specific pressure, which could keep you and your clients safe from explosions and injury if the canister is overheated or damaged.

TPED approved canisters like the Vortex range must also be non-refillable. This is important as regular gas canisters that are refilled, such as camping and BBQ gas, have to be inspected every 2 years for corrosion.

However YOU can’t inspect the inside of a gas canister used in typical plumbing applications – meaning you could be putting yourself and others at risk. Not something you have to worry about when using Vortex gas.

The UK Health & Safety Executive are known to investigate accidents involving gas and check safe working practices, so make sure the gas you choose carries the PI mark, the stamp that proves it’s TPED approved.

On top of that you can be assured that Arctic Hayes is ISO9001:2015 accredited; this approval ensures our quality management systems are based on a commitment to continual development and improvement. All our products conform to CE, EMC, LVD, RoHS and REACH standards.

We supply a range of Soldering and Brazing products and our range of over 450 products are sold in 1,000’s of leading plumbing merchants and nationals across the UK and online. You can view our Brazing range here:
